Week 1

This is the "official" 1st week of training! Good so far... ran 3 miles yesterday and 4 miles today! I still have 3 miles on Thursday and 5 miles on Saturday. Nothing to exciting to report... Time for breakfast! Yum Yum Yum!!

Just another run in the park!

Another 3 miles down! My pace was a little bit faster but not great. I have no idea how I used to run 8-13 miles a day at an 8min pace and my 2 mile run was in the 13:30's! I was some sort of mad woman... I feel so drained from the get go now-a-days! No worries, Kristal will prevail!

Next week starts my official 16 week training!! Just did the math, 418 miles of training! WHOOP WHOOP! Plus 47 miles of pre-training miles, makes a grand total of 465 miles! WOW! I guess it's safe to say I am committed... Running gear for Xmas gifts this year!

Dory...

I am Dory on land! I have to keep telling my self to run so I won't forget and stop in the middle of my workout...  Just keep running, running, just keep running! Today was tough, I felt tired from the get go. I don't know if I didn't get enough sleep, water, food or what but it sucked! Next run I will try a little snack before I hit the road. Yum Yum Yum!

Running, Spiders, Sunrises and The Devil....



I started my run by walking out of my front door and into a black widow spider web! A little past 6am this morning the sun was on the rise which was amazingly beautiful this morning; it had hues of orange, purple, yellow and red!  Beams of light were bursting from behind the few scattered clouds in the sky and I felt compelled to keep running even though I thought the devil was riding on my shoulders.  It was as HOT as poo.... 85 degrees... @ 6AM....  Overall it was a good run (3 miles @ 8:15). Tomorrow 4 miles, day off, 3 miles, day off and end the week with another 4 miles! Total of 14 miles for the week! (I killed the spider by the way!!!)

Run Run Run

Finished my run week with a total of 13 miles! It seems so crazy to me that I will eventually run 26 in one day!! YIKES!! I am ready for the challenge... Overall a good week, dropped a little more time but would like to be running at 8 or just under 8 min miles. (Right now I am at 8:20-ish but really kinda suck at pacing myself!) I also need to start getting motivated on my "non run days" and do some sort of muscle strengthening!

Double Run!

Today I ran my first double!  Ran 3 miles yesterday and 4 miles today... jammed out to Kenny Chesney!  From here on out I will run one double a week and have a day off in between each other run day. My pace is still a little slow, in the 8:30's, but I am working on it.   It was 73 degrees when I hit the road running this morning at 6am, hope it cools down just a few degrees. Now Kristal is ready for some OJ, eggs and toast! YUM YUM YUM!
